Data Range Titles

HI All,

I have a lust of source data that I would like to use for a indirect drop down menu and I would like to know if there is an easy way to name the data range using a naming column.
So using the example Below, i was hoping to have the 3 Apple types in Cal B to have the data title/label to be that of Col A 'Apples', without having to work my way down 9,000 rows manually. Any help would be amazing!

Eg:

Col A Col B
Apples Granny Smith
Apples Gala
Apples Golden Delicious
Oranges Blood Orange
Oranges Mandarin
Oranges Clementine

Yes, I am trying to set up a dependent data validation (sorry not great with the correct terminology) and Im using Office 365 (version 2403)

Since you're using Excel 365, check out this tutorial from Mynda Treacy:
Easy Dynamic Dependent Data Validation Two Ways
with this method you don't need to create any named range.
