Data Disappearing from a specific row

Hi everyone,

Recently I had this issue whereby an excel file is being shared between multiple users but only the first-to-open the file can do edits.

So whenever the user edited and close the file, data from row 38 would disappear. The next user inputs the data and the new data will be filled in row 38 causing the loss in newer data.

Need helps.

Thanks.

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
sounds like a vba routine, or is it always the same user ?

VBA rountine?
Do you have any macros in the workbook ?
OR any filters that affect row 38 ?

It is always the same few users.

VBA rountine?

The VBA maybe selecting Row 38, and it get typed over, rather than refreshing the last row with data in it, and selecting the next free row

@3d4d5c it is often polite to briefly explain the resolution for others who suffer a similar issue

Hi,
So sorry about it. Was busy at work.

Okay. So as the inital issue is that the macro took reference from the number column which is column A. So whenever we keyed in a new data, the macro assumes that row 38 is 'empty' but in this case, it's just row 38 column A.
We never really did solve the missing row 38 number issue (as it is for labelling the new data entry) as the file is needed for the operation at work quickly. So the solution is that he just switched the referencing to column B instead. Thus temporary solving the issue.
