Data Centre & then on to Office 2010

I just started a new contract as a SharePoint 2010 PM, and one of our projects is to move from in house server room to a custom datacentre. After that we are migrating from Office 2003 to 2010.

We have ten companies each one doing a similar thing, and as we are in the financial sector, we do seem to have some workbooks that have lots of addtional features. Before we start the project, it would be handy to know:

  1. If the server migration brings a new UNC path will Excel workbooks with custom code/links or similar be affected ? Is there anyway to check from the outside or any good quality programs we can purchase?
  2. If we treat the two projects as one (data migration and 2010 upgrade) would we only have one bug headach as opposed to two big headaches (past experiences tell me to do things in steps, but 2010 might be easier to migrate to new servers etc).
I did a few searches but sorry I could not find any similar posts.

Thanks
