Dashes Turning Into Slashes!

I use Microsoft Suite 2010. In Outlook and on all of my xlsx I use the date format dd-MMM-yy. When I view them everything looks fine.

The problem occurs whenever I export to SharePoint or send an email with a xlsx attachment. The viewer "sees" all of my dates as dd/MMM/yy.

Under my Control Panel settings for Region and Language, the Short date is set up as dd-MMM-yy.

So... why are my "Dashes Turning Into Slashes"???

Thank you,
John

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
i think thats just a 'date format' thing. just like you can re-arrange a date mmm-dd yyyy or mm/dd/yyyy,
no matter what , its still a date.
so It could be the format on how its viewed, NOT data error.
