Daily electrical energy cost

My utility reports the total energy kWh used daily. My energy bill is based on rgw 2 rates for each day:

$0.4168 for the first 40kWh
$0.7456 for energy use greater than 40kWh

Can anyone help me with the formula to calculate the energy charge where the total daily consumption is in cell E3?

For anyone concerned by my energy cost, I was off by a factor of 10: <=40kWh = $0.04168, and >40kWh = $0.07456.

private electricity prices in Belgium (inclusive taxes and contributions) is approx. .20-.25 €/kwh
So, in my opinion, it was expensive, but not by a factor 10.

I apparently do not look at my electric bill enough.

We just had a new forced-air electric furnace installed, so I am obsessing, albeit somewhat after the fact. I moved away from fuel oil. The furnace is a Steffes "Electric Thermal Storage" furnace; think heating hot rocks in a campfire to have heat after the fire has gone out. This allows me to shift my heating energy load to off-peak hours.
