cut the root domain from url string

Hey

I have a long url and I need only the root domain in the url

for example:

http://blablabla/2009/11/35-vintage-t-shirts.html------>http://blablabla/
http://lalalala/calendar-past2.html-------------------->http://lalalala/
http://bobobob/calendar-past2.html------------------>http://bobobob/
http://toktokto/calendar-past2.html------------------>http://toktokto/
http://pkpkpkp/shop/green-turtle-t-shirts/------------>http://pkpkpkp/
