I am facing issues with formatting the currency.

Currently the cell has this format
$ (3,402,000) - _($* #,##0_);_($* (#,##0);_($* "-"??_);_(@_)

Need it to look like
$ -3,402,000

I tried the format $* ?,_(###,###,###,##0_);?$* ?,_("-"###,###,###,##0_) however in this currency symbol gets a little displaced

Hi Gerald

hahaha yogita is a friend of mine, I had called her up to ask if she had a solution to the problem. :)

I tried the custom formula which you posted on her thread

$#,##0;$-#,##0

The problem here is that the $ symbol gets displaced. :( Is there a way i can share this file so you know exactly what I mean?

Hi. What do you mean, displaced ?

Just type into a post, the number exactly as you want it to be displayed, for example
$ -123,456
or
$-123,456
or
-$123,456 or whatever.

My suggestion will do
$-123,456

Hi,

What I mean by displaced is that the $ symbol is moving to close to the number need it to maintain that gap.

Example
Current scenario _($* #,##0_);_($* (#,##0);_($* "-"??_);_(@_)
$ (123456)

Your suggestion $#,##0;$-#,##0
$-123456

Need it to dsiplay as
$ -123456

there needs to be a huge gap between the $ and number

How huge ?

Two spaces ?
Ten spaces ?
Do you want the $ symbol to be aligned to the left hand side of the cell ?

Hi Gerald
The $ symbol needed it to be left aligned, should have been more clear with requirements :(
