Custom Views greyed out in every sheet in workbook

Hello

I'm running Excel 2019 and I very recently added a pivot table/chart to my workbook, which has 15 other sheets.

I've been making good use of Custom Views and although I read that Custom Views won't work if there's a table in the sheet, every sheet in my workbook already contains tables and Custom Views that worked fine before, so I don't understand what difference the pivot table would make now.

Also. my workbook is not shared.

Does having the pivot table mean I have to forego Custom Views or is there a workaround? Else I don't understand why this has just happened.

An explanation/solution would be greatly appreciated.

Somehide hide payroll data in column G? Press F5. Type G1. Enter. Look in formula bar while you arrow down through G.
i don't know how close your pivot is to the rest of the data, there is an issue when excel needs to adjust the pivot and is constrained by other data. i usually give it plenty of room, which i guess extends to beyond what might be displayed shoul you show ALL the columns permissible and then some i.e ten columns of data might have 15 allowed for. I don't use Tables, just data laid ut in a grid pattern

The existing first sheet below contains the raw data and was I believe converted to a table. The second sheet is the pivot table itself - could you tell me how I follow your suggestion please?

First one drained my quads within a couple of minutes, just like when I ran out of steam halfway up Hallas Lane and was forced to stop. Following sessions got slightly easier, then Moby **** came on random playlist and it was inspirational. Felt good after!

Excellent session, really motivated by a) Garmin 305 HRM display b) finally figuring out how to stop console scrolling to hold on time elapsed (SHORT press of Mode button) and c) changing arm/shoulder posture to racing position. No discomfort. Raced through time elapsed 'stages' as concentrating on Garmin HR readout exceeding 120bpm (thrilled to see this, knowing it's correct, vs inaccurate bike sensor readings of only 100 or so). Stayed between 120-125bpm the whole session. Could have carried on well beyond 50 mins but didn't want to be late down for dinner! Biking is really building my general confidence, which seems to be growing almost daily.

Apprehensive about session following aborted run in Lanzarote last Thursday (either dehydration or blood loss from piles) and being up all night. Needn't have worried, I was fine, legs very strong. First session with fan, on lowest setting started out brilliant, but probably needed to be middle setting halfway onwards. First session with water bottle but couldn't get any water through straw!

Learning points: 1) chest strap MUST be tight - took ages to get a correct readout from Garmin and 2) not enough to have (brand new) window wide open regardless of 3c temperature outside, as there's still no air circulation - fan is essential. Turned resistance dial round to 6 o'clock, less effort than before but fewer revolutions. Took at least 15 mins to get heart rate over 120bpm and seemed to struggle to keep it that way.

Curious session - worked as hard as I could from start to finish yet took 30 minutes for heart rate to reach just 110bpm and didn't exceed it for the entire session. Window wide open, 0C, fan on 2nd setting, only one drop of sweat on mat! Took drink a couple of times.
23Tue, 6 Mar 20180:4822.013.717.1111KFillmore West 12.01.1969. Forgot to put headband on, definitely needed it. Tried water bottle without lid on, got water all over me! Going to use squeeze bottle next time. Turned resistence up around 25 mins to try and increase my heart rate and it made only 1bpm difference (111bpm). Legs like concrete afterwards. Know I'm dehydrated, only drinking about 1.5 pints of water a day, plus small amount of whisky last couple of nights to finish an old bottle.

Repositioning of fan helped greatly, hardly any sweat. So-so session, pissed off cos HRM readings well below what they should have been and eventually went haywire. Read up online about this being solely the strap (not the chest unit or the monitor).

Can't believe my average HR - really in the zone now! Performance-wise, this has to the best session to date!

Interesting to note average HR lower than 2 days ago and distance and power were significantly greater - the fact my power and distance has improved with an actual reduction in my HR means my fitness is improving.

Wore headphones, very comfortable, but unplugged them by mistake 5 mins in and had to stop previous 1hr timer to stop the sound coming out of the speakers - didn't want to be late for appt so reset time to 45 mins. Fan set to lowest setting to avoid too much noise but definitely needs to be middle setting - very thirsty, couldn't get enough water down.

Window half open cos of v strong wind/rain. Barely sweating. Missed distance reading while chucking headphones on the bed!!!

Breathing 1 in 4 naturally but still couldn't BELIEVE the BPM (out earlier and had a caffeinated filter coffee). Angina hit me after about 10 mins, then faded away, purely because I've just unintentionally gone 3 days without taking any pills (too tired to sort boxes out). Angina returned really badly pretty soon afterwards, pain so intense I was forced into sorting my pills out straight after dinner.

Sensed my legs were powerful and they sure were, very much like 10.12, really able to push down and power - felt like there weren't enough fast bits for my legs to power through! And look at the BPM vs Watts compared to 10.12!

Excellent session, and very pleasantly surprised - power and strength in my legs was unbelievable, powering on every fast bit and even on some of the slower bits - it just HAS to be the length of bed rest. Top 10% performance and on a 'runner's high' all evening. Side issue of very bad chafing to back of thighs from wearing X-large women's shorts (bought by accident) a little lower down from my crotch to try and avoid chafing.

Back of thighs still v sore before I started, wore different cycling shorts tonight, no problems whatsoever. This was a session in 3 parts - First 30 mins were OK, good level of strength in legs for sprints. Over next 20 mins my strength drained away fast with much of this period spent with my eyes closed, even feeling a bit dizzy at times. 50 mins in, my energy was renewed and OK for all the sprints - was this the water I'd taken onboard?

Stayed up late last night until 3:45 this morning updating this workbook and drank pint after pint of water/lime squash continuously from around midnight (knowing that going to the loo over the next 4 hours wouldn't disturb my sleep) to see if I could put an end to my constant dark/almost orange pee day after day. I didn't really think about the effect this would have on exercising until I got on the bike this morning...WHAT A SESSION AND A CONTRAST TO THE LAST ONE! The best session yet - wattage (previous PB smashed), related heart rate and distance (PB for effort level) are incredible and correct! Legs really up for it right from the start, full of effortless power right to the finish.

I would potentially select all the Table data make that a named range. Then say in column Z insert your pivot and use your named range, if z won't take it try bigger (my first thought)

Hi Mole, I'm sorry for the delay, I've looked into the reason and I've finally realised all I needed to do was right click in the table and convert to a range - I'd previously been trying to do this in the pivot data - doh!
