I have a workbook that has about 38000 rows of data and about 20 columns. The workbook contains a custom view with about 6 custom views on the dialog list. The custom views filters the data. A typical filter may involve 2 to 6 columns. The workbook has a formula to count the rows (=subtotal(3,A:A)-1). The results of that formula are shown in a text box. The textbox formula is =CY1. The textbox was located in the upper left hand corner of the worksheet. It was neat way for t he user to see the row count after every filtering operation.
This worked quite nicely in Excel 2013. However, recently we have received the Office 365 version of Excel. Now what happens is when the custom view filter is invoked the formula value does not update to show the correct row count. However, if a user manually filters the worksheet the row count is updated.
Has anyone seen this and could they offer a workaround?
