Custom Delimiter in Excel 2007

I am quite comfortable with Excel, and have used this for years. I perform a lot of text manipulation, often taking data from external sources and pasting into new worksheets. I used "(" as a delimter once about a month ago, but now I've found in ANY new file I create or new data I paste into a new file, the "(" is applied as a delimiter (without asking me!!), and causes a mess to my data! I'm assuming Excel 2007 somewhere stores this info, and wonder if anyone knows how I can clear it! Thank you, and I'll continue scouring Excel options!

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
Welcome to the Board.

It's under Text To Columns on the Data tab. Select a non-blank cell, choose the option, at Step 2 remove the other delimiter and press Cancel.

I am unsure of 2007 but previous versions saved the delimited info until you changed it back.

Have a look at the Delimited Text to Columns Settings.

Many thanks Andrew, bit bizarre that the setting is universally applied to all new worksheets! Absolutely would not have looked there, and it has solved the problem. I spent 4 hours trying to work this out!
