Hi All,

Apologies if this is totally daft, nube etc.

I'm fairly green to excel, so your assistance and forgiveness is sought after.

I have been given a date in the following format as plain text "MAR 4, 2019" and I wish to convert it to 04/03/2019 using excel. I have 1400 different

the supplied format is non standard so I am not sure how to convert this to a standard.

My initial thoughts were to create a custom date and format the plain text as this, then convert - but this doesn't seem to be working ?

Your help is much appreciated

Allyn

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
Select the column with those text dates in them, bring up the Text To Columns dialog box (Data tab, Data Tools panel), select Delimited on the first dialog page and click the Next button, make sure the Space and Comma checkboxes are NOT checked, then click the Finish button. Your values should now be real dates which you can Cell Format (all at once) to the date display format of your choosing.
