So I have a linked table in Excel that is combined in diagram view in Powerpivot with data coming from SQL Server. I then have pivot chart with slicers based off this.

I then make a change to the linked table data -- literally change one item of data and press the Update All button on the ribbon. I then try and use the slicer and i get an error :current session no longer valid due to structural changes in the database".

No structural items have changed -- just the data which would move an amount from one bar in the chart to another.
The chart does then seem updated and starts working again eventually (after one or two other similar errors popping up)

Any ideas?

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
