Hello,

My Crtl+Home keyboard shortcut stopped bringing cursor to the beginning of the worksheet. It used to do it before, but then, out of the blue, stopped. Also, Ctrl+End keyboard shortcut doesn't work either. What could be the reason?

Thank you,
Liliya

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
In what way have they stopped working?

In what way have they stopped working?
Whenever I need to position my cursor in Excel to cell A1 (beginning of the worksheet) from any other cell in worksheet, it doesn't do it anymore.

But where does it take you?
Nowhere. The cursor just stays where it is, without moving to any other cell. Also, the HOME button that I use is one combined with number 7 on the numeric keypad of keyboard.

Couple of things

1. Is this a desktop or a Laptop? If it is a laptop, try Ctrl + Fn + Home

2. If it is a desktop, ensure "Transition Navigation Keys" is unchecked.

3. If the above doesn't help, try repaining MS Office?

Another thing, have you installed any add-ins lately?

It is a laptop.

You, mentioning the Fn key on laptop keyboard, actually, helped me to find a solution :)

The solution that I found was that my Num Lock was activated (Fn + Num Lock), without me noticing it (I don't have a light indicating when it is on), which prevented me from being able to use discussed shortcut. So, in order to use the Ctrl+Home keyboard shortcut again, I had to deactivate Num Lock. Plus, I found out that I have been only using the HOME key on the keyboard's numeric keypad, the one that is combined with number 7. But, it turns out, there is a separate HOME key, which is located right above Num Lock key and it is not affected by Num Lock being on or off.
It is funny, that it was right in front of my eyes, and I didn't pay attention to the main HOME key and kept using the secondary one on the numeric keypad. Well, live and learn...

Thank you, Fluff and Siddharth, for trying to help me with my issue in such a timely manner!

Have a nice day!
