CTRL + End in table not going to last cell in table

When you hit ctrl + end in a table, shouldn't it select the last cell in that table? Today, I inserted a column in a table, then deleted it, and when I hit ctrl end, it selected the last cell outside of the table as if it was still including that column as data. I swear that isn't right, right? I do this all day every day and now feel that I am losing my mind. There is no other data in the workbook. Did something get pushed out overnight?

No, Ctrl+End should go to what Excel thinks is the last cell on the sheet. That doesn't always reset properly; sometimes saving the file will do it, other times you need to to a bit more work, like deleting 'blank' rows/columns.

Within a table, it normally goes to the end cell in the table. If I have only touched cells inside the table, it should always go to the last cell. Whenever I would add rows or columns inside the table, and delete rows or columns within the table, it still keeps the last cell in the table. And I mean truly deleting the row or column, (ctrl -), not just clearing contents. Outside of a table yes, you have to save to update it. But inside table, it normally keeps the last cell of the table. This is how it has worked. All of a sudden, it is no longer functioning this way.

As Rory indicated Ctrl+<end> was only going to the bottom right corner of your table because you had nothing else on the sheet so it coincided with the bottom right corner of the Sheet's used range.

I tried deleting a row in the table and also the whole row and in both cases the End did not reset.
ie Ctrl+<End> is not going to the "new" end but continues to go to the pre-delete row.
If however you then hit <save> the used range will recalculate and Ctrl+<end> will take you to the new end of the worksheet.
The most likely is that you typically hit save (maybe without thinking about it) or you have autosave turned on and Excel has saved automatically.

Column deletion works the same way.

I swear it used to stay in the table. I could be losing my mind, but there are a number of other changes I have come across along with this. Something had to have changed with it. Is there a way I can find changes pushed out? Does Microsoft publish this somewhere?

This is not exactly user friendly but you can try this:

Ctrl+<End> functionality has not changed. My guess it that the you have just not had something outside the table before.

If you want a workaround for getting to the bottom right corner of the table then you could try this.
From anywhere inside the table selected (except for the 4 corners) hold the Ctrl key down and hit the Period "3 times" (ctrl+... ).
Since this takes you around the corners having a corner active changes the starting point.

So it seems that only works in a table, not a pivot table?

It will work anywhere it just works slightly differently in an Excel Table.
Normally you have the "select" a range first and then Ctrl+<.> (Period) will take you around the corners of the selected range.
So if you are working on a Pivot Table or data not converted to an Excel Table, hit Ctrl+A first to select the data range and then Ctrl+<.> will take you around the corners.
If you are positioned in an Excel Table, the difference is that you don't need to hit Ctrl+A first. Excel just assumes you want to work with the table as the selected area.
