Hello.

Is there a way to save a .csv file with the required formatting? I need to enter "0000" in a range of cells. When the .csv file was open on my computer, I formatted the range for text so I could enter the required "0000" in the cells. I save the file and sent it to someone else, but when they attempted to upload the file, the formatting was removed and the range was changed to "0" only. This caused the upload to fail. Does anyone know what happened that might have caused the formatting to change? Also, does anyone know how to save the .csv file with the required formatting? Thank you in advance.

A csv file will save with whatever formatting you have applied.
HOWEVER, if you open the csv file in Excel, it will do a conversion of certain field values, and anything that looks like a number will be converted to a number (i.e. "0000" will change to 0).
For this reason, you should NEVER use Excel to open/view a csv file, if you want to see what its contents really look like. Use a Text Editor, like NotePad or WordPad to confirm that the csv has the data the way you want it.
