Hi,

I have a CSV and have formatted the date as DD/MM/YYYY but when I save the file and come to reopen, the formatting has gone, any idea why please?

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Open the csv file in a text editor like notepad. Is the date correctly formatted?

it looks ok I think. I am importing the data into SAS and when I look at the output from importing, the data field just shows as a dot(.)

If the csv looks ok in notepad, then the problem lies with SAS (whatever that is) or the way it's being imported.
