I want to use pivot table styles to apply fill color to certain rows of my pivot tables. However, that's all I want to do... I want the rest of the formatting, including the borders, to remain the same. Specifically, I want to retain the system of borders that appears when a pivot table is first created, where the row headers on the left appear to be in large boxes.
I created a custom pivot table style which does nothing but apply the fill color to a certain subtotal row, and then I applied it with the option "Apply And Maintain Formatting," but the gridlines on the entire worksheet are now visible in a light color, thus making the table harder to read and defeating the purpose of the fill color.
Is there a way to create a pivot table style that applies fill color to certain rows, and does absolutely nothing else, leaving all other formatting on the worksheet exactly as it was?
