Creating names under Formulas>Define Name issue

Hi Everyone,

I have a problem, I tried creating a new Define Name but the name I'm gonna use look like this...
SBC(D255)

but when I create, it says an error The name you entered is not valid. Is there a way for me to use these ( ).?

You cannot use numbers and numerous other symbols for a named range. Stick with Letters.

Thanks for you quick answer...

The reason I need this code, is that this in an item and on this item SBC(D255) there is another items underneath it.

Usually our item is ADD234 ADD001.. I don't have issues making it to a list.

Is there a way for me to clean this SBC(D255) with a excel comman remove all symbols and make it look like this SBCD255 then I can probably start with there.

A named range cannot begin with a number, hence you get an error.
