Hello,

I have been tasked with creating an upload for a business we work with. The file has to be in exact format. I have very little experience working with txt files.

I've created the data in Excel pulled from a variety of data sources. The worksheet is then saved as a txt file.

I've sent it to the company who said it's almost there but "each record should be 1000 characters long, terminated by a carriage return / linefeed (CR/LF). Therefore, total length for a record should be 1002 bytes."

My records are either 80 or 82 Characters long. When looking at their template at the end of the record are just spaces. Any ideas on how I can achieve the result they are looking for?

Thank you.

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
i suggest you look into random access file handling
