Hi all,

I have a project which I want to create an estimate of how much it will cost.

The calculation is quite simple-
Quantity(a)*Price(a)+Quantity(b)*Price(b)+...

I want it to be smart as possible (enabling graphs and adjustments) so I thought maybe creating it in power pivot (all the data is stored in power pivot)?

If anyone did something similar, I would love for some tips and "best known methods" before I waste precious time...

thx!

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Without knowing more about your model it is hard to say... but your measure is simply:
Total := SUMX(YourTable, YourTable[Quanity] * YourTable[Price])
