Is it possible to create a paste link cell from a cell value

e.g. if a cell B2 value contains 10_Apr ( =DAY(A2) & "_" & TEXT(A2,"mmm") )

I want to create a paste link using this value

e.g. ='G:\File' & B2 & '.xlsx]Sheet1'!$AA$1

Excel doesnt like this

any help

cheers

Excel Facts

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
I am not sure I understand what is a paste link, but looking at your second formula: No, excel doesn't like this.
It needs a direct reference to a cell. There is an INDIRECT function to help build references indirectly, however I believe this doesn't work with closed files.
