Creating a Graph, losing my mind

Hi, hoping someone might be able to help,

the basic premise is I would like to create a graph where I have percentages along the x axis and then values (money) along the y axis, For ease sake, lets say its just a perfect 1:1 line graph, so points go x=1 y =1, x=2 y=2, all I want to do is, if someone selects a percentage, on the graph I would get a vertical and horizontal intersecting lines where the point is on the graph. It's fairly simple to add the horizontal line (Orange), i.e. below, but as the x axis is not a time value it seems impossible to add the vertical. On the below chart the line would go up on the vertical from value 0 to 1837.5 at 100% but as x is not time it doesn't understand it's a linear scale (there maybe some easy fix to this I am not aware of), so it basically just dumps it at the front.
I had a plan to sneak around this, by using seconds, so I could have 70 seconds, 75 seconds etc, so it would recognise it as a time line, but I cannot seem to get the format to show as 70 seconds, if you just show the time value as SS is is shown as 10, with the 1 minute not shown. Frazzling my brain, if someone could help would be appreciated :)
