Create two data labels in pie chart?

The boss wants an icon in each data label of a 6-slice pie chart. I can insert the image into the label but it often covers the text and value. Can I create a label for text/value and a second for the image? I can't put any of these values into the pie slice because some of the slices are quite small (<5%) and the data or image are not identifiable. There are 50 pie charts and I don't want to manually adjust each one. Suggestions?

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Hi,
The only suggestion I can offer is to put the icon (or image) in the Legend.
At least that way the image will not need to adjust when the values change.

Sorry but its the best I can offer.

Thanks for responding Paul. When I Format Legend Entry/Picture Fill, the result is the image in the pie slice, not the Legend. Is there some other way to make this work?

Hi,
Sorry but maybe I didn’t make that very clear. I intended that you simply put the icon/image next to the Legend, not to try to format the legend.
You have already figured out how to add an image that fills the sector of the pie chart but as far as I know you cannot add an icon or image over the actual pie chart sector, in such a way that it adjusts with the values. If you add it as a static image next to the legend, at least the legend does not move when the values change.

Cheers
Paul.
