Hi,
I am trying to get back into Access since my Uni days.
I've added an image to show the relationships between the relevant tables.
What I am trying to get to is a form where for a given user it shows a form of ALL skills, and allows the user to enter a drop down to select their rating. I have one that will allow them to see what they already have, and also allow them to add a new row by selecting a skill, then a level to add a row, but I would prefer them to see a list of all skills including the ones that they don't yet have a record for in the AssociateSkills table, so they can just enter their value and it generates the row.
I don't really want to have to create a bunch of dummy rows in the AssociateSkills table with null values for the rating, as I foresee massive maintenance issues when it comes to adding associates, skills etc.
I tried creating a query with LEFT JOINs to show all skills, and include Associate rows that have data, but I keep getting 'ambiguous joins' error messages when trying to view.
Any suggestions would be great!
Terry
