I'm thinking this is simple but can't figure it out. (My first post. Please be kind.)

Column A - player
Column B - Team
Column C - position

Create a drop down list that selects one particular position. For example:
A. B. C
Row 1. Smith blue team qb
Row 2. Miller. red team. qb
Row 3. Jones. yellow team rb
Row 4. Jacobs pink team. wr

I only want the list to reflect the QB position. (I plan to create lists for all positions once I get the first one done.)

Thank you so much.

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
In A1, B1, and C1, go to Data > Data Validation > Allow List, then in the "Source" box, give the range of cells with the values for the list in formula form
Excel Formula:
=MyLists!$A$1:$A$11
Make sure you have the box checked for "In-Cell dropdown" (checked by default)

Then just copy the row down as far as you need it. The cells will be blank but the data validation will be copied.

Not sure what you already know, and how much detail you need. If this is baffling let me know and I'll go deeper in the explanation.
