Covert to date format in formula

Good afternoon All,

In B2 I am trying to only covert B3 into only a date.

I thought I had done this with =LEFT(B3,10). However, this the then does not accept the format (as I am trying to MATCH with another sheet (using 17/05/2024), Unless I paste value and hit return it does not match it.

Any Ideas please
