Counting total instances over a group of cells

Hi all

I have a register, which has days of the week and attendances, tracked in Excel 2010. I need a formula that will calculate the number of individuals who have attended over that period of time, can anybody point me in the right direction?

Have a look at the SUMPRODUCT formula examples or array-formula examples with SUM+IF...
