Hello-
I have a report with 3 columns:
  • Column A- date
  • Column B- employee name
  • Column C- a reference number that basically corresponds to work they need to complete.
So if employee Bob has reference number 123 on 2/12/24, and then again 2/28/24, this would indicate to me that Bob didn't do what he was supposed to.

I am trying to create a formula that will count those instances when there is a repeat from one date to the next. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
Couldn't use just use a COUNTIFS formula, counting all the instances where column B and C are the same, and check if the value is greater than 1?
See: COUNTIFS Function
