Hi guys,

So I have been stuck on this for hours and I would appreciate the help if anyone can figure it out. I need to find how many times the word "Sedan" appears on a separate worksheet named "Automobiles Purchase Info." There is a column on that worksheet, with multiple vehicle types. I just need to figure out how many times "Sedan" appears on it. Any help appreciated :). I am thinking this may involve vlookup, indirect and countif function somehow.

Thank you!

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
Hi and welcome to the forum!

First of all, I'm a little confused, as your title would seem to suggest that you wish to perform this count over more than one sheet, but your description then goes on to say that it is actually just on the one sheet (Automobiles Purchase Info.) - can you please clarify?

Also, what is the column in question? And when you say that you want to count the instances of "Sedan", does that mean just those cells whose content is precisely "Sedan", or should it also include cells which contain that word anywhere within their string, e.g. "Sedan 1000", "Yellow Sedan", etc.?

Regards
