Hi all,

Hoping for some help. How do I count the accumulative number in row B if it matches criteria in row A. For example Adam would = 5.

Adam

2

John

2

Adam

3

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
In column C you need a SUMIF that you can drag down.

So, in this case in cell C3 you'd have

=SUMIF($A$1:A3,A3,$C$1:C3)

The top of each range is fixed, and then the values in column C will show the cumulative total for the name in column A to that point.
