Counting Duplicate values as one

Hi,

I want to know to count

Every month, when a driver delivers multiple invoice items, I record the trip number and vehicle number. For example, Driver Hameed's first trip in January would be assigned the trip number H-1, along with multiple invoices and the vehicle number DXB-45755. If he makes another delivery on the same day or a different day, the trip number would be H-2. This process applies to all drivers. In the next month, the trip number would reset to H-1. My problem is: how can I count multiple H-1 as one trip and same will apply to other drivers.

are all H-1 in month 1 - count as 1 ?

can you give some expected results

i dont see a H-2 as an example

Office 365, no, please ignore the month column. I was counting January as 1 and Feburay as 2.

 =SUM(1/COUNTIFS(A2:A12,A2:A12))

if you just want to know how many UNIQUE values are in column A then
=ROWS(UNIQUE(A2:A12))

whihc in example is 7

But not sure this is what you are after
