Hey.

I've run into a problem: I've been supplied with dates, of which I need to remove anything that is 4 weeks or more from today's date. Now the problem is that the dates I've been supplied with are in the format (dd.mm.yyyy), while excel gives today as (mm/dd/yyyy).

How can I get around the mismatching dates? Formatting does not seem to work properly with the dates I've been supplied with.

Thanks!

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Formatting does not seem to work properly

not even custom formatting?

right click your cells with the dates, select custom format and change the format to custom. input the custom format as mm/dd/yyyy

the only other thing i can think of is that if the separators in the date are . instead of / then excel might not recognise them as dates. if that's the case then maybe do a find/replace with ctrl+H and replace . with / for your given dates, then try formatting again
