I am working on a formula for graphing some metrics at work. In the countifs statuement below Column A is a Date

Original formula, which works but doesnt allow for easy adjusting as years pass. In this case correctly gave me 12 as a result
Excel Formula:
=COUNTIFS(A3AuditMetrics!B1:B1000,"",A3AuditMetrics!A1:A1000,">=10/3/2022")

what i tried was to use a formula to target a cell that i placed for a Year value that my manager or another user can change when they need. what i was essentially needing was to count for dates in column A that are 90 days before the beggining of the year we want to evaluate. This yeilds 0
Excel Formula:
=COUNTIFS(A3AuditMetrics!B1:B1000,"",A3AuditMetrics!A1:A1000,">=DATE(G1,1,1)-90")

is it that DATE() can not be used in CountIFS?

Excel Facts

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
Try changing this:
Excel Formula:
=COUNTIFS(A3AuditMetrics!B1:B1000,"",A3AuditMetrics!A1:A1000,">=DATE(G1,1,1)-90")
to this:
Excel Formula:
=COUNTIFS(A3AuditMetrics!B1:B1000,"",A3AuditMetrics!A1:A1000,">=" & DATE(G1,1,1)-90)
