Countifs Anchored In Table Alternative

Hi Guys,

I wonder if anyone can help.

Instead of using the below formula "=COUNTIFS($A$1:$A3,$A3,$B$1:$B3,$B3)" where the 3 does not have a dollar so that the range can expand.

Is there a way to do the same calculation but within a table?

The above formula is ok but if you sort the data it distorts the result.

Any thoughts welcome,
