Hello, sorry this is a simple one but I cant get it to work.

I have a date of 14/03/2011 in cell A1. I have another date of 14/05/2011 in Cell B1. Because the date in cell A1 is earlier that Cell B1 I want it to count 1.

Itried the following formula =COUNTIF(A1,"<B1"). Thisshows a result of 0 (once I have formatted the cell to a number and not adate). Any ideas would be really appreciated & many thanks inadvance.

<b1") appreciated.=""></b1")><b1"). be="" would="" ideas="" Any="" a="" not="" and="" number="" to="" cell="" the="" 0="" of="" result="" thanks="" many="" &="" appreciated="" really="" formatted="" have="" I="" (once="" inadvance.

</b1").>

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
I think you can simplify more.

*for some reason my formula wont post

Pseudo

IF A1 is less than B1 = 1 else BLANK

<b1,1,"")[ code]<b1,1,"")<b1,1,"")<="" html=""></b1,1,"")[>
