Count needed based on date

Hi team,

like below format, i do have lot number of records.

I want formula to calculate unique count, on every date from which department.. can anyone suggest on this..

Excel Facts

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December

But sir, can we have same using formula.. bcoz here is the board where we learned lot lot about formula's..

Pivot tables are not generated with formulas. They are functions within Excel. Highlight the area in my example A1:C9. Click on insert-->Pivot Tables. Place the DOJ in rows. Login ID in columns. Count of BU in values. Fairly simple and easy to use. No formulas required.
