Hello,

For some reason I can not get this to work. In column E, I have drop downs that go from E2:E200. In each cell you can choose from the items in drop down menu like Bike $500 or Car $900. I want to count only the numeric values and put that in cell J2, so like if I select in E2 Bike $500 and E3 Car $900, J2 will show $1400. If I remove the words, I can get it to count, but I want to leave the words in their so I know what each one is for. I hope this makes sense. I appreciate the help!

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
What version of Excel are you using?
I suggest that you update your Account details (or click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)
