Count if date is between two dates

I think I'm an idiot for this one because I know this is simple, but my brain is not working.

Here is the spreadsheet: Copy of Untitled spreadsheet

I am trying to get a count of how many of a certain item were in inventory between the start date and end date. Basically, if start date is greater than or equal to intake date AND end date is less than or equal to outcome date that means it was in inventory at some point in that month. Countifs isn't giving me what I need for some reason.

HELP ME!
 

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
How about
Excel Formula:
=COUNTIFS(A:A,"<="&D2,B:B,">="&C2)
