Hi all, this seems a really simple one but I can't crack it!
I want to look at two columns and count the number of times ONE particular word appears.
I've tried =COUNTIFS(A:A,"Word",G:G,"Word") to try and count the number of times 'Word' appears in both column range A and column range G, but it doesn't seem to work?
Thanks in anticipation...

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
If you are looking for whether a cell is equal to "Word" in A:A OR G:G and count those cases then:

Excel Formula:
=COUNTIFS(A:A,"Word")+COUNTIFS(G:G,"Word")

If you are looking for whether a cell contains "Word" in A:A OR G:G and count those cases then:

Excel Formula:
=COUNTIFS(A:A,"*Word*")+COUNTIFS(G:G,"*Word*")
