Count Function using MS Access

We have a data field containing text R, Y, G and blank to identify Red problems, Yellow, Green etc and we want to run a simple queriy which counts the field and tells us how many of each category we have in the data table :oops:
 

Excel Facts

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
Add the field to a query twice.

Then goto View>Totals. You should now have a dropdown below each field. Select count from one of the dropdowns.

BTW it won't count the blanks.
