Corrupted Excel file help

I have a large file that is giving me memory errors sometimes when I am working on it. I don't have the exact error right now.
Is there any way to tell if the file is semi-corrupted. I don't want to continue adding data and then find out later on that it is corrupted.

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
