Correlation Meaning of Survey Data

Hey, So I calculated a survey average based off of 10 questions asked scored 1-10. I have 2,000 surveys and took the correlation of each individual score vs the total average scores. What does this tell me? What do the results mean? Is this a way to measure impact?

Example:

Total Score Question 1 Question 2 Question 3
100 100 100 100
75 100 50 75
75 50 75 100

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.

We don't know, since you do not show the formula that you are using to "correlate each individual score vs average score".

I don't believe you are using the statistical term "correlation" correctly. That term usually refers to the Pearson (or similar) correlation factor, which compares arrays of expected values to actual data.

Since you are talking about 2000 scores, I suggest that you upload an example Excel file (redacted) to a file-sharing website, and post the public/share URL in a response here. Some participants in this forum might object; but that is the best way to present such large data, IMHO.

Alternatively, provide a concrete example of a smaller set of data (20, say) in a table in the posting. Click on Go Advanced to add a table. (I prefer to start by copy-and-pasting a range from Excel.) Be sure to include formulas.

I am just using the CORELL function in excel. Doing Total average score, Question 1 and then Total average score, Question 2 etc. etc.
