Hi

I'm new here and hope everyone is well!

I have a spreadsheet a friend asked me for help, it's a meal planner spreadsheet that has sheets within (one of which is 'ingredients' and has a master of all ingredients in there) other sheets that are breakfast, lunch, recipes etc link to this with drop down and calculate calories accordingly.

Works well when all the sheets are in the same workbook, but she is trying to link the ingredients into separate workbooks that link to this one sheet 'ingredients' .. i think she copies and paste her existing tab sheets to a new workbook and it fails to update.

What is the best practice to link separate workbooks that link and update properly into the master 'ingredients' sheet?

thank you all :)
