Hi All,

I'm not sure how to tackle this problem and thought you might have a really simple way of doing this, I'm guessing its a common problem.

There is a master excel sheet (Process card log), and 1000's of process cards each one an individual excel document.

Currently the user spends a few hours a day copying and pasting data from the process cards onto the master sheet.

My thoughts were two options
1.
Create a button on the process card and a macro to open the master and paste the data into the assigned row.
My problem with this is I don't know how to identify the correct row. Column A has the process card numbers in it, so I thought maybe a lookup to identify the correct row and then paste data in here.
2.
Or to have an update button on the master sheet. I don't know how to tell excel to open the process cards and then pull the information. I would only want it to update new cards and I'm not aware of a way to get Excel to read information from explorer such as date modified or something similar.

Each process card has its unique number in a cell and it is also its file name.

Thanks for your help with this,
Cat
