Copying from Access

I login to 2 different servers at work. I have tried to set up both so my excel & access are the look & work the same.

However when I copy data from access and paste it into excel, one server it pastes the data in the format from access but in the other it pastes everything as text.

Does anyone know why it is doing this & how it can get it to not paste everything as text?
