copying data from one column to multiple columns

How do I copy a 3 digit number in one column to 3 - one digit columns?
example 321 copied into 3 - 2 - 1 . Does this make sense? May be not for one two or even 10 or maybe even a 100 items but my list is over 3500 items. Please help!

Use text to columns--fixed width.
