Copying conditional formatting across sheets

I am just curious if am I doing this a rather more laborious way then is necessary.

I have 12 sheets on the workbook in question, each sheet had a vast range of conditional formatting. Every year when I update the workbook and colours have to change, I alter the colours and then go to 'Fill Across'

The problem for me, lies in the fact it retains the named sheet of the original , so I have to go into all 11 other sheets and remove the sheet name from the formula. I am using Excel version 2016 and I do know for a fact that pre 2010 this issue never occurred.

Any ideas please ?

Thanks
Paul

Excel Facts

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
Cant you store the name of the sheet in a cell on the actual sheet?
Then use that in the conditional formatting.
Then you only have to change the value in the cell and the colours, leaving the conditional formatting formulas intact.

I have something very similar to this. If I make a change to a sheet that needs to be reflected in other sheets I just delete the other sheets, create new ones from the one I changed and change the cell value.
