Copying Columns

Can somebody explain why this code doesn't work and how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated...this is killing me!

Workbooks("Quote Comparisons").Worksheets("Comparison").Columns(1) = Workbooks("Hello").Worksheets("fileName").Columns(12)

Try.

Workbooks("Quote Comparisons").Worksheets("Comparison").Columns(1).Copy Workbooks("Hello").Worksheets("fileName").Columns(12)

Note: Both workbooks have to be open.
