Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.

I think you'll have to provide a little more detail - can you post an example of a link you have in mind? Simply transfering a file to another notepad shouldn't change any of the links within the file.

Best regards

Many thanks for answering My query. Will get to the Gilbert & Sullivan references later, I hope.
I am providing you with the following workbooks.:
NeurosGF06Jun7(1).Jul12to Aug15.xls
Testb.xls
Basingstoke.xls.

I copied table 7 as follows "right click tab for table 7 in NeurosGF06Jun7(1).Jul12toAug15.xls and choose copy in dialogue box to a new sheet which I called Basingstoke."

Sheet 1 B7 was created by:

" = and placing the cursor on workbook called testb.xls at the place indicated"
I hope this helps. I guess I would like to have your e-mail address so I can send you the attachments. Or perhaps it is possible through this message board.

First things first: when you copy an entire file to a notebook, no links will be updated/changed that previously existed in the file. This can hence cause a problem if the file contained links to another file (say on the previous computer's harddrive) as the file being targeted by the links may well not be on the new computer, or may be in a different location on the new computer.

If you think you may be suffering from this, you should be able to open up the copied file, and select menu Edit>Links and select the button "Change Source" to point the links at the new location/file.

Does this sound like this could be helpful to you?

yes, I do have that problem. but I am more concerned with learning how to copy a file without creating any links.
I guess I could menu edit copy > paste special
but this would sacrifice "internal" formulas

I have recently discovered the add-in findlinks.xla (approx. name)

Yes, your idea was relevant and helpful
