Copy/Paste is broken

I can't seem to figure out why I can not copy and paste anything in Excel, I've tried repairing Microsoft 365, completely uninstalling and reinstalling, and still the issue persists.

I've got VBA code in it, but it doesn't do anything with the clipboard I don't think.

the only VBA codes I have are clearing unlocked cells and also sorting/trimming some cells. would either of those have anything to do with clipboard?

What if you select your sheets and hit right click to ungroup.

you sir just saved me from throwing my computer out my office window LOL.

so far I've had the same cells copied and was able to paste them multiple times into random cells.

how would that have happened? I've never grouped sheets before, unless I did it on accident

You group sheets by control+clicking (or shift+clicking) the tabs.

oh! so maybe when I selected multiple sheets to hide them, they group them automatically? or did I maybe hit group instead of hide at some point?

Hey...so got any other ideas? it's happening again and even after I do this. I don't get it...it was working earlier but now all of a sudden it's not even after ungrouping. my clipboard (Windows 11 and Excel are both empty at the moment)
